When I am interviewing fresh talent for our offices I always ask the applicants about their ambitions.
What is it they want to achieve in their life, short term, and long term.
Hardly anyone has firm goals set, neither for the short term nor long term.
I usually hear versions of the following:
- I want to learn and develop myself
- I want to become a manager
- I want to become the best recruiter (on my question what they do to become the best recruiter, which courses do they follow, which blogs they read, the answer usually is: nothing; “I educate myself”)
- I want to become the best salesperson ever (on my question what they do to become the best salesperson ever, which sales authors do they know, which books do they study, the answer is usually “huh…I educate myself”. Then I ask them if they know Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, Jeffrey Gitomer and they have no idea.
And that usually is it.
I have another question which makes the applicants a bit uneasy:
How much money do you want to earn? And believe it or not, the answer usually is a very modest amount.
My point is that only very few dare to dream big. Maybe because they are afraid to fail? Could be.
We want people on board who dare to dream big and are prepared to fail from time to time. If you want to grow you need mistakes, you need failures as these bring you the best lessons and prepare you for manifesting your BIG DREAMS.
If you love recruitment, join our company in Armenia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
We love BIG DREAMERS with the intention to have and to act. Because we are also BIG DREAMERS achieving the impossible.
